1. Connect the Portable Monitor
- Plug the USBC cable into the laptop’s USBC port that supports video.
- Connect the other end to the portable monitor’s USBC port labeled USBC Display, USBC Video, or USBC DP.
- Ensure the monitor is powered (some draw power directly from the laptop).
- Wait a few seconds for the laptop to detect the display.
Once detected, your laptop may default to Duplicate mode.
2. Switch From Duplicate to Extend (Windows)
Method A: Using Keyboard Shortcut
Press:
Windows key + P
A sidebar appears with display options:
- PC screen only
- Duplicate
- Extend
- Second screen only
Select Extend.
Method B: Using Display Settings
- Rightclick on the desktop.
- Select Display settings.
- Scroll to Multiple displays.
- Open the dropdown and choose Extend these displays.
- Press Apply.
Arrange the Screens
In the same menu:
- Drag the monitor icons to match their physical position (left, right, above).
- Select the portable monitor to adjust resolution or scaling if needed.
